Curriculum planning : A path

Curriculum (early childhood): In early childhood education, “curriculum” is like the whole package of everything happening – the games, activities, routines, and even the surprises (hidden stuff). It’s the mix of planned and unplanned things that go on in a place meant for kids to learn and grow.

Pedagogy: “Pedagogy” is a fancy word for how teachers do their job. It’s all about building cool relationships with kids, making decisions about what to teach, and figuring out the best ways to help kids learn and enjoy their time.

Assessment: “Assessment” is like checking in on what kids know, can do, and understand. It’s not a one-time thing; it’s part of a circle that includes planning what to teach, keeping track of how kids are doing, and looking back to see how things went. It’s a way to understand what’s working and what might need a little change.

Principles and Values: “Principles and values” are like the rules and beliefs that guide how we teach and care for kids. They come from what we know, what’s been researched, and what fits with different cultures. It’s like having a compass that points us in the right direction when it comes to play, learning, and teaching.

Practice: “Practice” is about doing things the right way based on good ideas. Teachers use different cool methods to help kids learn in fun and meaningful ways. It’s like having a bunch of tricks up our sleeves to make sure learning is awesome for the little ones.
